Q: What does Keep me signed in mean?
A: Keep me signed in is a feature that allows you to sign in less often to your Delta College account. It should be used with caution and avoided in some cases.
Q: What does checking the Keep me signed in box do?
A: The login page will place a cookie on that device that allows access to your Delta account without needing to enter your username and password for up to 7 days between sessions. This only applies to the device that you checked the box on.
Q: Should I check the Keep me signed in box?
A: If you’re logging in from a computer or device you share with others, don't use this feature.
Q: What is a shared computer?
A: A shared computer could be one that is used by more than one person, such as a family member or roommate. Typically a shared computer doesn’t need a password to use it, or that password is known by more than one person.
Q: What’s the risk of checking that box?
A: If someone other than you uses your computer after you check that box, they won’t be asked to login. This means that they can access everything your Delta account can. Some examples include:
- A roommate could accidentally submit their homework assignment under your name or send an email from the wrong email account.

Someone could pretend to be you make changes on purpose such as:
- View or change your personal information (Identity Theft)
- Add / drop classes
- Make a financial request (Refund Checks / Direct Deposit)
- Read and send emails from your account
- Change passwords or access 3rd party websites you may have used your Delta email to sign up for (Banking, Job Search, Social Networking)
